New research reveals that while health and safety in Australian workplaces are being prioritised, compensation claims are still rising. Safe Work Australia’s 2024 data shows a 20.5% increase in serious claims over the past decade, many related to mental health.
However, a study by COS finds that 80% of employees believe their business prioritises health and safety, up from 70% in 2023. Co-CEO Amie Lyone highlights the importance of regularly assessing and addressing employee needs and offers a list of strategies for a healthy, safe and productive workplace.
