We are delighted to announce that COS has been recognised as an ABA100 Winner for Sustainability in The Australian Business Awards 2021 and our commitment in contributing to shaping the future of sustainable business. The Australian Business Award for Business Sustainability [BSA] recognises organisations that have successfully implemented initiatives that demonstrate leadership and commitment to sustainable business practices.
Our goal is zero emissions. Together with our large customer and supplier network, we have developed smarter, more sustainable solutions to reduce our carbon footprint and other environmental impacts across our operations, product choice, customer activity and delivery service.
As a family owned and run business, we work together to influence and make a positive impact and real difference. We established a few key actions that would significantly assist us in achieving our goal including the installation of solar farms, investment in infrastructure to reduce power consumption and reviewing our product range for opportunities to design new products to reduce raw materials and waste.
The actions we have taken are making tangible progress to achieve our goal of zero emissions from increasing purchase of our eco-conscious product range by 30% to the reduction of carbon emissions equivalent to 589 tonnes per year
We believe that by taking a step-by-step approach with our sustainability initiatives, small changes and decisions in our customer’s ordering behaviours combined with our actions are improving sustainability outcomes for COS, our customers, and the environment.
