The study commissioned by COS sheds light on a significant gap between the perception and provision of free period products in Australian workplaces. While an overwhelming 73% of respondents advocate for companies to supply these products, only a mere 24% of workplaces actually do so. This disparity is attributed to several factors.
Belinda Lyone, co-CEO of COS, suggests that some organisations perceive period products solely as an additional cost rather than recognising them as essential employee benefits. Moreover, decision-making processes within companies may suffer from a “departmental disconnect,” leading to indecision and a lack of action on this matter.
