Mint Tea
Ingredients
- 3 tbsp green tea
- 165g white sugar
- 1 bunch mint (leaves picked)
Method
- With 250ml boiling water place the tea in a large metal teapot. Swirl to combine, strain and discard water, leave the tea in the pot.
- Pour one litre of boiling water in to the pot and place over high heat. Bring to boil for one minute.
- Add mint leaves to the pot and cook for a further one minute or until tea is close to boiling.
- Take off heat, pour in sugar, stir until it dissolves. Pour tea into a glass (use an oven mit, it will be hot!), then pour back into the pot. Repeat twice more, allowing the tea to properly mix and infuse.
- Serves 4. When pouring start from high up, then lower towards the end to create froth.
- If serving in glass be sure to leave some space at the top so the glass can be held, or better yet serve in a glass with a handle. Breathe in the mint and enjoy!
Stay warm this winter!
