Mother’s Day is coming! It’s time to get out the craft supplies and get creative. Follow our easy tutorial and say I LOVE YOU with a popstick picture frame.
Parents and carers love receiving arts and crafts lovingly put together by eager little crafters. This Mother’s Day is the perfect time to let little imaginations run wild by making and decorating a sweet popstick picture frame. Made from only a few key pieces, and decorated with whatever takes your little crafters fancy! Don’t forget to add a favourite photo from the family album.
What you will need:
- Rainbow timber popsticks
- PVA Glue
- Decorations of your choice – think pom poms, sequins, buttons, and glitter!
- A photo
Instructions:
Line up 11 popsticks vertically, side-by-side
Take another popstick and place a line of glue all the way along it. Press it down horizontally at the top of the 11 popsticks, hold down.
Repeat on the bottom
Place a dot of glue at the end of each of the horizontal popsticks and place another stick on top vertically, hold down.
Repeat on the other side
Now place a dot of glue on the top of each of the new vertical sticks and place another stick on top, horizontally. Hold down.
Repeat on the bottom
Now you have your frame (there is space for a photo to slide in on either side). Time to decorate! Using whatever your favourite embellishments are, get glueing and decorate the edges of your frame. We used pom poms, and rhinestones.
Now all that’s left to do is add your photo by sliding it into the space left on either side. Look at what you’ve made, incredible! Bonus points for gluing a magnet to the back so it can head straight for the fridge!
